Acrylic Painters (preferred media but not required. The class involves layering exercises, so acrylic’s drying properties are helpful. Special note on acrylic paint: Student-grade paint will work but is very transparent, requiring multiple layers to achieve the opacity of professional grade paint. If cost is an issue, I suggest purchasing professional-grade only in the “required” colors below. Golden is my preferred brand.):
Acrylic Painting Palette (suggested: Acryl-a-Miser)
Cup or Jar to hold water (suggested: Mona Lisa Brush Cleaning Tank)
Acrylic painting medium (suggested: Golden Acrylic Glazing Medium, satin)
Brushes: (at least 1 of each) #4, #6, #8 filbert and flat synthetic plus any additional brushes student desires.
Painting Surface: Stretched or mounted canvas or gessoed hardboard panels. Suggested sizes 8x10 through 16x20. (you'll need at least 7 total). Canson Plein Air Illustration Board pads are an excellent option if you can’t transport canvases.
Paint (required): Titanium White, Quinacridone Red, Ultramarine Blue, Cadmium Yellow Light
Paint (optional, in order of importance): Cadmium Red Light, #5 Value Grey, Cadmium Orange, Mars Black, Unbleached Titanium or Titanium Buff, Dioxazine Violet, Cobalt Blue, Yellow Ochre, Burnt Sienna, Cerulean Blue, Veridian, any other colors you like to use.

Pastel, Colored Pencil, Markers, etc. are also welcome. You'll need 10-15 pieces of paper. iPad or other tablet with "Procreate" app is also acceptable. All assignments can be done digitally.
